The Sisters Kelvingrove

The last episode of Sex In The City was broadcast in the US in early 2004, but its influence lives on among the clientele of The Sisters Kelvingrove. Tables of young women, smart couples & mixed groups abound in this contemporary dining space, all charcoals & blacks with abstract-seascape artworks. The food is rooted in Scotland (Ullapool smoked salmon, Tarbert crab, Arisaig venison) but with a modern spin. Three courses might include crab wrapped in cucumber on a green salad lightly dressed with horseradish cream, with pepper salsa; venison with black pudding, pink peppercorn mash & Madeira jus; & rhubarb & apple crumble with honeycomb ice-cream. This is the second venture for the O'Donnell sisters. Their first, in Jordanhill, operates a similar menu (tel: 0141 434 1179) but the Kelvingrove has been a destination for Glasgow's Carries & Samanthas since it opened in 2005.
