This smart & sophisticated French restaurant occupies an unlikely spot near the centre of Swansea. As the name suggests, it’s a family affair: Didier busies himself in the kitchen while his partner Stephanie handles front-of-house with impeccable charm. Didier’s cooking is rooted in the classical training he received in France, but he’s smart enough to improvise without losing the tune. His croustillant of French black pudding with mustard dressing is a delight, while main courses such as braised lamb shank with thyme or pan-fried wild sea bass with saffron sauce all exhibit a technical assurance & balance of flavour that belies their simple descriptions. Desserts ranging from apple & cinnamon cake with red fruit coulis to meringue with pistachio cream round it off in style.
