Square Meal review of Allium:
The Grahams have definitely found their groove in this archetypal Cotswold town. Their restaurant is housed in a couple of old stone cottages at the corner of the market square, & while the cool, crisp interior may come as a mild surprise, it’s the modern British cooking that really stands out. James Graham is a gutsy chef who knows about bold flavours & revels in seasonal produce from the land & sea. Perfectly timed scallops might be teamed with apple & celeriac, while poached pear, parsnips & game jus could be served alongside tender, flavoursome loin of venison – with an exquisite prune & almond souffle & sorbet for dessert. An excellent-value lunchtime set menu clocks in at £19.50 for three courses. Gracious service from Erica Graham, wonderful breads, a serious cheese plate & a wine list that invariably provides the right bottle, make this place memorable.
