Set at the corner of the market square in an archetypal Cotswold town, James & Erica Graham’s restaurant is housed in a couple of old stone cottages decorated with a surprising degree of warmth. But it’s the modern British cooking that really stands out. James is a gutsy chef who knows all about bold flavours & revels in seasonal produce from land & sea. Cuttlefish might be teamed with lemon & Israeli couscous, flavoursome breast of grouse is accompanied by bubble & squeak, & desserts finish things on a high note: don’t miss the exquisite sweet/savoury tones of beetroot soufflé with sage ice cream. Erica Graham’s gracious service, wonderful breads, a serious cheese plate & a wine list that invariably provides the right bottle, make this place memorable.
