The Snooty Tavern

Clive Dixon & business partner David Hennigan have created Snooty Inns, their own super clutch of distinctive dining pubs in the southern part of the East Midlands: ‘a collection of classic but contemporary hostelries - where tradition gets a twist’. The name of this plain roadside pub relates to their particular desire to do things in their own idiosyncratic way, not because the staff are haughty – far from it in fact. The signature open plan kitchen & fish & beef counter, where diners make their choice before cooking, are all part of this identity, alongside local beers & upbeat interiors of lime-washed beams, tiled floor & leather chairs. Hearty retro cooking ranges from the simple reassurances of deep fried brie & onion jam, fishcakes or cottage pie to the richer tastes of steak tartare, slow braised lamb breast with its seared kidneys, pommes purée & spinach or potato & cheese ravioli with sage butter & French beans.
