Tampopo

Tampopo goes one up on the bare-bench & shared-table brigade. It’s a stylishly minimalist basement, the ambience is not at all ethnic, and there’s a relaxed vibe. It’s considered the better of the noodle options in town, with choice ranging from Japanese ramen, & Vietnamese pho bo, to laksa from Singapore, & Thailand’s tom yam. Similarly, sushi takes its place alongside grills, yakitori & tempura. Results are mostly accomplished. Our favourite dishes include gyoza (delicious Japanese dumplings filled with minced pork, bamboo shoot & spring onion, with a soy dip) & a first rate pad thai. Good value.
