The Corn Mill

You’ll find this superbly renovated 18th-century mill smack beside the rushing waters of the River Dee in the heart of Llangollen. Three gloriously restored floors ooze charm & character through wooden floors, old machinery, huge exposed beams, thick stone walls, & a working water wheel turning behind the bar – best viewed from upstairs through glass panels in the floor. Add a dining area with picture windows giving river & mountain views & a wonderful terrace suspended over the Dee, & you have a stylish, modern pub, just as happy to accommodate drinkers as diners. The all-day menu lists pub classics like Garlic mushrooms on toast or steak sandwich with fried onions, a few chips & tomato chutney alongside pigeon breast with colcannon cake & port sauce, shoulder of lamb or beef Bourguignon, & bread & butter pudding with apricot sauce & clotted cream. Cracking real ales from micro-breweries, interesting wines of the month, & a music-free atmosphere complete the picture.
