You’ll find this superbly renovated 18th-century mill smack beside the rushing waters of the River Dee in the heart of Llangollen. Three gloriously restored floors ooze charm & character through wooden floors, old machinery, huge exposed beams, thick stone walls, & a working water wheel turning behind the bar – best viewed from upstairs through glass panels in the floor. Add a dining area with picture windows giving river & mountain views & a wonderful terrace suspended over the Dee, & you have a stylish, modern pub, just as happy to accommodate drinkers as diners. The all-day menu lists pub classics like Welsh beef & mustard sandwiches alongside ham hock terrine with piccalilli, shoulder of lamb with orange & rosemary gravy, & barabrith bread & butter pudding. Cracking real ales from micro-breweries, interesting wines of the month, & a music-free atmosphere complete the picture.
