This homely café delivers an imaginative range of veggie, vegan, gluten & wheat-free dishes using organic & free-range produce where possible. The menu opens with breakfast, then ranges from vegetable tempura with wasabi yoghurt & tamari dip, & pan-fried polenta & toasted goat’s cheese with tomato sauce, via Asian-style spicy peanut salad with tamarind & chilli dressing to Thai red curry or fennel & spring onion risotto. There are organic wines & beers, too. Grassroots has gone from strength to strength since it opened in 1999.
