Not far from the castle at the prettier end of Loughor (complete with terrace views of the estuary), this former inn is now firmly established as a relaxed & stylish little restaurant with homely decor & a please-all menu of internationally inspired food. On a typical day, the kitchen might offer starters of Asian duck spring rolls with sweet chilli dressing as well as pan-fried chicken livers with brandy & cream on toasted brioche, while mains also cover a lot of ground from pan-fried sea bass with prawn risotto & lemongrass dressing to grass-fed, 21-day matured Welsh beef with chunky chips & Diane sauce. Time-honoured desserts could range from roasted apple & blackberry crumble with crème anglaise to raspberry parfait with a mixed berry compote.
