Square Meal review of Red Chilli:
There are two menus at this cheery, modern basement restaurant, but adventurous eaters will be handsomely repaid if they go for the ‘hot & spicy’ option. The Peking & Szechuan dishes on offer will re-awaken the interest of anyone feeling a tad jaded with the run-of-the-mill Cantonese cooking that pervades most of Manchester’s Chinatown these days. Popular with young Chinese groups, the choice includes red-hot chilli pork stomach shreds, eel with sliced chilli or the intriguingly named husband & wife lung slices. Excellent vegetarian dishes range from poached tofu with sesame oil to braised aubergine. Staff are particularly helpful.
