Square Meal review of Milsoms:

A break form the country-house restaurant norm, Milsoms, on the doorstep of Constable country, has decor that’s sufficiently urban to attract a wide range of customers & a no-booking policy that dictates a relaxed attitude. The invitingly buzzy restaurant has well-spaced tables, big comfortable leather chairs, a laid-back DIY ordering system & a modern menu that allows diners to choose any size or combination of courses. Start with air-dried ham & buffalo mozzarella, rocket & pomegranate seeds, or go for seared tuna on warm shallot & pink fir apple potato salad, either as a starter or main course, or the never-off-the-menu Mr G’s shepherd’s pie: serious comfort food. There’s plenty for vegetarians & great desserts too, while staff are bright, well drilled & on-the-ball. You may even be tempted to stay the night.
