The building is modeled on the Doges Palace in Venice and was once an art gallery, but has been a branch of Brown's since 1992. The menu mixes brasserie staples, such as calf’s liver and bacon, steaks and pasta, with some great British dishes – steak, mushroom and Guinness pie, battered cod and chips – and there are sandwiches and lunchtime specials, too. The bar is particularly nice and worth popping in to for either a non-alcoholic smoothie or a chilled glass of bubbly
