Square Meal review of Darbar:
Honest endeavour, lively cooking, weirdly opulent surroundings, spritely atmosphere: that’s the draw of the Darbar. Owner Karim Mir presides over the dining room from a small open kitchen and most dishes are well rehearsed: impressively fresh chicken and lamb kebabs, darkly aromatic chicken pilau and lamb nihari (a 24-hour braise in which the meat acquires an almost unctuous quality). Staff vary from amiable to aloof. Good value.
