A well-established face on Newcastle’s gastro-scene, the triple-decked Paradiso is the epitome of Italian cool – taking in a caffe, bar & restaurant. Salads & sandwiches dominate the daytime menu, but risottos, fish cakes, mussels, steaks & vegetarian dishes appear in the evening. Aside from the selection of Italianate dishes, expect a touch of north Africa (chicken pastilla & lamb or fish tagines). Prices are reasonable, so Paradiso is a particularly good option for parties, & the service is always delivered with a cheeky smile.
