Primitivo

This is a rare find in Birmingham city centre – a small, classy bar & eaterie. Perhaps that’s one reason why it’s so popular with the commercial guys who work nearby (this is the suits quarter). It has a bit of soul, unlike many of the industrial food factories that now dot the city. The other obvious reason for its popularity is the food – it doesn’t pack many surprises but these straightforward, almost homely dishes are surprisingly good. Starters may feature mussels in linguine with tomato & garlic sauce while mains include plenty of fish, such as sea bream with chillies, lemon & herbs, & some tasty pastas. Perfect for business lunches but also nicely intimate for dinner.
