Square Meal review of The Six Bells:
Write your review
Generous & good-value bar food is available at this rather spirited, old fashioned 18th-century inn. Indeed, the jury who found the 19th-century murderess Sara French guilty of poisoning her husband with arsenic in an onion pie, deliberated in the top bar & she is reputed to frequent the place still. Expect log fires, real ales, live music, and straightforward cooking of the steak and kidney pie, chicken curry and treacle tart variety.
