An impressively arched ceiling dwarfs tables in this magnificent formal hall. Expectations are high but generally fulfilled by intricate platters of Scottish influenced dishes: warm treacle scone with Marburry gravadlax salmon and creme fraiche with whisky, and cep-flavoured breast of chicken on truffled barley with asparagus and sauce albufera.
