The designers have been in since Lord Byron spent his honeymoon here. In the White Room Restaurant they have created an impressively chic, white-walled space, with rich maroon suede & chenille seating, & the crispest of white table linen. To match the mood, Max Wilson’s upmarket menu features assured dishes along the lines of scallops, smoked eel & cauliflower risotto with ceps, ahead of honey-glazed pork belly teamed with pork tenderloin, langoustine, pease pudding, butternut squash, prawn beignet & lemon thyme, with dark chocolate fondant, orange bavarois, cinnamon ice cream, chilli & orange to finish. Unobtrusive service also reflects the restaurant’s well-placed confidence.
