Square Meal review of Sevendials:

Sam Metcalfe's modern European restaurant is now a firmly established Brighton and Hove destination, bringing a touch of metropolitan style to what can be a parochial dining scene. Food and service can be hit and miss, but when on song, the kitchen impresses with the likes of seared foie gras on toasted brioche with spiced poached pears. The two course lunch for £10 is one of the city's great bargains. The opening of a decked summer terrace has increased the restaurant's appeal to those willing to put up with noise and fumes from the traffic on Terminus Road.
