Well into its eighth decade, Rogano is Glasgow’s oldest surviving restaurant & is wearing its elder statesman crown with pride & distinction. The city’s powerbrokers & fashionable faces seem to like the ocean-going, art deco design as much as they relish the seafood & Scottish accents on the menu. Classics such as dressed crab salad & fish soup nestle beside more adventurous meaty offerings including foie gras served with fried cloutie dumpling, Stornoway black pudding, quince jelly & Sauternes jus or duck breast with confit leg bonbons, black kale & plum jus. The downstairs café is about half the price of the restaurant, while the oyster bar is good for Champagne cocktails & snacks.
