If you like mega-modern eateries, this food factory within the City Inn hotel is the place for you. A big minimalist space with striking colours & banquette seating creates a bright & contemporary setting for good quality, informal dishes. There’s good value from the daily changing set menu – smoked haddock risotto with lemon oil, then breast of chicken with pomme puree & tarragon jus, say – & the likes of confit of duck salad, or salmon & dill fishcake with grain mustard sauce, on the a la carte. ‘Incredibly friendly staff’ & summer alfresco. Useful central location, too.
