A resplendent Elizabethan manor is the backdrop for this formal, rural restaurant. The menu, too, harks back to an age of garden produce though cooking is crisp & modern. Dinner might involve baby fennel salad with summer truffles & lemon dressing followed by breast of chicken with braised cabbage & a tomato jus. Puds are good too - like the warm plum tart with red wine ice cream.
