The modern British cooking at this charming restaurant presses all the right buttons. Its policy of supporting local & regional artisan producers means the sound cooking is constructed from top-notch ingredients. There’s plenty of choice, from fillet of Somerset beef or Devonshire duckling to locally reared lamb. The west country venison is particularly recommended. Hot chocolate soufflé tart with clotted cream makes a memorable finish. The Saturday lunch menu (2/3 courses for £14.50/£19.00) is particularly good value, otherwise note that the restaurant is open for dinner only.
