Lazeez Signature

Fancy a bit of Asian bling? Then Lazeez Signature, tucked away in a corner of The Mailbox, is well worth a visit. The bar is always popular, but the tables behind the crystal-beaded curtains have their fans too. It feels very nightclubby but the food is better than expected. The menu is split into ‘traditional’ & ‘signature’ so you can either play it safe with lamb rogan josh or biryani or be a little more adventurous with garlic lobster, yoghurt monkfish or cumin-crusted sea bass. Veggie options such as aubergine rolls stuffed with paneer & mushrooms also show some imagination, but you get the feeling that with a little more attention to detail, it could be even better. Perhaps they’re just a little bit too busy being gorgeous & cosmopolitan.
