Down Hall scores with its textbook glossy hotel surrounds – including 110 acres of tranquil woodland & landscaped gardens – as well as its proximity to Stansted Airport & the M11. Classy modern European cooking prevails here with the seasonal menu relying on fresh, locally sourced ingredients in dishes such as terrine of chicken with marinated prunes in port with foie gras roulade, or loin of veal, hickory smoked mash & vine tomatoes. The zingy lime zest tart with coconut mascarpone is a good option to finish, while professional service rounds off a smooth package.
