Square Meal Review of Jeremy's at Borde Hill ?

The light, airy interior & eye-catching views over Borde Hill gardens makes for an elegant dining experience in this acclaimed local restaurant. Friendly staff serve contemporary dishes from a kitchen with classical foundations. Seasonality is everything: expect starters of Dorset crab spring rolls with prawn bisque reduction or sautéed duck livers with celery, red cabbage & pear salad, followed by roasted Devon hake teamed with braised leeks, parmentier potatoes, clam & lemongrass emulsion, or roast breast & ballottine of guinea fowl with carrot & swede purée, fondant potato, shallot & ginger jus. Conveniently located for Gatwick Airport.

    Agree with the sd review ref lovely garden terrace. unfortunately, we were directed to sit there on a freezing evening, because “the bar is full” – service very good and pleasant dining room, but the clientele were solely comprised of well-heeled jacjet and tie types, who ignored the jazz duo, not one piece of applause. the meal was wellcooked and presented, but a massive let-down in the portion size department – you could call the main course less than a small envelope in area, i was finished and paid the bill in 60 mins – a disappointing experience in the end.
