Millennium Madejski Hotel - Cilantro

A top dining experience in the unlikely setting of Reading's football stadium, offering both cooking and design of a quality more akin to the capital of Britain than that of Berkshire. Though firmly grounded in classical French technique menus show plenty of creativity and innovation. Start with terrine of red mullet with smoked eel and lime chutney, followed by tournedos with braised oxtail hash and madeira jus. The decor, too, has a modern feel, with tasteful furnishings, soft colour schemes and wooden floors. Service is as French and accommodating as the weighty wine list.
