Square Meal review of Drury House:
Dating back to the mid-1600’s and with an enchanting history to prove its age, Drury House is Windsor’s oldest established restaurant and is a mere 40 metres from the castle's exit gates. Originally built to accommodate castle staff, it famously played host to Charles II’s favourite mistress, Nell Gwyn, whom the king would visit trough a secret tunnel. In keeping with its heritage, the kitchen specialises in traditional pies and puddings, including an excellent steak and kidney variety, as well as roasts with all the trimmings.
