This textbook English country pub comes complete with a thatched roof, beams, an open fire & comfy sofas, plus the kind of civilized atmosphere commensurate with bottles of champagne chilling on the bar. It's urban chic in a rural retreat. The likes of caramelised onion, fig & beetroot tart with creamed goats' cheese & roast leg of milk-fed Pyrenees' lamb with mixed bean cassoulet & greens draw folk from miles around. Excellent wine list, too.
