Square Meal Review of Old Bridge Hotel ?

Clean lines, cool colours, & rich fabrics are hallmarks of this cosmopolitan hotel, which delivers the kind of sophisticated food that wins friends & animates the dining room. Med influences show up in the likes of linguine with crab, lemon, parsley, garlic & chilli, but there are also plenty of neat & impressive takes on the Euro classics – perhaps calf’s liver with ox tongue, leek fondue, Puy lentils, crisp pancetta & salsa verde or skate wing with brown shrimps, parsley butter, spinach & herb mash. The wine list ranks as one of the best in the land, & it is worth exploring what’s on offer at the hotel’s wine shop, where two dozen regularly changing bottles are available to taste. In summer, enjoy afternoon tea alfresco; in winter, bag a seat by the open fire in the bar – or commandeer one of the sofas in the lounge.

    The Old Bridge in Huntingdon is a find! This unique, fairly small hotel sits on the ring road around Huntingdon just as you go over the bridge into Godmanchester. The staff, mostly young, very professional, warm, and friendly. The owner has outdone himself on the wine bar. It is top of the line, wide range of tastes to accommodate any budget.
    They have recently finished a brand new patio that will be wonderful to enjoy come Spring! They host special dinners that are most enjoyable and also offer a wide range to accommodate various budgets.
    The food is very good, cooked to perfection for most of my visits. The cheese tray is the absolute best to have during cocktail hour and tastings. I have only visited for an overnight stay once and the room was very cozy, and large.
    There is not a better place to stay or visit in Cambridgeshire!
