Both the decor & professional service impress at the Sharpham Park Restaurant, housed in a fine, 17th-century manor house close to Shepton Mallet. The look is bold yet tasteful, especially in the magnificent conservatory dining room where light & colour are deployed with panache. But then this is to be expected when the owners are Roger & Monty Saul, founders of classy design brand Mulberry. Offering luxury, a lot of workmanship, & produce of the highest order, the kitchen uses rare breed beef & lamb from the Saul’s Sharpham Park farm, while West Country produce is showcased in dishes such as Summerleaze Farm duck served three ways with turnip remoulade, aubergine chutney & pear puree, & saddle of Wiltshire venison.
