A refreshing change from your usual over-themed coastal eatery, this harbourside restaurant boasts a cool, contemporary interior. The views are stunning, & abundant light streams through the massive windows, while modern art breaks up the whitewashed walls to good effect. The cooking also makes competent use of contrasts. Start with local scallops, cauliflower puree, apple jelly & crisp pancetta, move on to breast of duck with sweet & sour plums, & finish with strawberry & mint soup with balsamic vinegar & banana sorbet. Ambience is surprisingly cosmopolitan, as is the New World-focused wine list. There’s a lovely terrace for alfresco meals in summer.
