More Wall Street than Walton Street, this lofty space could be the coolest dining room in Oxford. Metal beams and exposed industrial piping lend a rough, urban feel that's contrasted by stylish details in upholstery and table settings. A light, piscine menu suits the breezy surroundings. Oysters, lobster and champagne may best suit the setting, but there’s plenty in the way of simpler offerings. Start with the mackerel pate or gravadlax and follow with a steaming bowlful of mussles or the hearty fish pie. Don't miss the breakfast – smoked haddock with poached egg, say – which is arguably the best in town.
