Square Meal review of Fishers:
There's fish in the name & fish on the plate of virtually every one of the customers in Martin Agius's buzzy & attractive restaurant, just over Magdalen Bridge. Don't be put off by the portholes & other paraphernalia of the sea, which some might judge a trifle naff; the cooking of fish here is as sound as their buying policy (Fishers is a supporter of the R.N.L.I & of sustainable fishing). There’s glorious bouillabaisse, Venus clams steamed in lemon, shallots & parsley, or Whitstable oysters, followed by roasted pollack steak with red chili & coriander butter, whole-baked Dover sole, or - for those of simple tastes - classic fish & chips with mushy peas.
