Square Meal review of Al-Shami:
Oxford's longest-established Lebanese restaurant has always succeeded in packing 'em in to its attractive premises, which exude a sense of bustle beneath the chandeliers & Mediterranean paintings. Students & dons enjoy the creations of chef Mimo Mahfouz, even if they find the Lebanese idea of salad - a whole lettuce or cucumber etc - a little odd at first. As ever with Lebanese food, you might want to order your own mezze selection from the 40-odd starters rather than binge on a main course.
