Square Meal review of The Cellar: 
Is this the most romantic dining room in Scotland? Dark stone walls, three glowing coal fires, subdued lighting, candles & highly polished antique tables form a moody backdrop to the almost minimalist cooking of very fresh fish (and one meat dish) at Peter Jukes’ long-standing seafooder. Consistently good since opening two decades ago, Jukes’ technically accomplished style is such that the flavour of all the ingredients speak for themselves. This is a chef with an ability to draw on influences from all over the world, but the Mediterranean remains a firm favourite. So, what to expect? A brilliant crayfish bisque gratinee, roast pesto-crusted cod with pak chou & basil mash, & seared tuna with cracked coriander, black pepper, leaves & nicoise dressing, all washed down with wines from an intelligent list, & very, very sweet staff.
