Precise cooking & fabulous local produce has been the order of the day since Chris Johnson & partner Ros Hunter set up shop in Ramsbottom during the early 1980s. The restaurant is now likeably contemporary, with Johnson’s love of Italy colouring the food & the impressive wine cellar. Maldivian head chef Abdulla Naseem produces feathery pasta & light, seasonal fish dishes such as seared monkfish with fried gnocchi, turnip tops & lobster bisque, with spot-on cheese plates or impeccable Italian desserts to follow. Downstairs, simpler fixed-price trattoria suppers are served in the lovely candlelit Hideaway.
