Levenshulme is somewhat of a culinary wasteland, but That Cafe is a south Manchester institution & continues to attract custom from far & wide. The refined decor & atmosphere does justice to expressive dishes like mallard and beetroot terrine with caramelized oranges and scented geranium jelly, & venison medallions with juniper & sultana sausage, red cabbage & green peppercorn gravy. Set menus are great value & Sunday lunches are legendary, offering a pared down selection from the evening menu at £12.95 or £15.95 for two or three courses, rather than traditional roasts.
