Anthony Armelin’s converted barn has become something of a Cardiff institution over the past decade. It’s a cavernous building, but rarely less than bustling with customers drawn by the well cooked brasserie food, buzzy atmosphere & reasonable prices. Easily accessible from the M4, the restaurant is traditional in appearance but its open kitchen adds a touch of theatre. Seafood is a speciality, with hearty fish soups, grilled fish with classic sauces & traditional fish & chips among the offerings. Commitment to top-quality Welsh ingredients & classic flavours extends to the meat options, such as breast of pigeon with black pudding, Old Spot bacon & gratin dauphinoise, & entrecote of Welsh beef with wild mushrooms & Madeira.
