The Corinthian Club sums up Glasgow’s cast-iron belief that ‘more is more’. Originally housed a Victorian-era bank, the premises were transformed into a bazaar of food, drink & fun in 1999; following a 2010 refurb, the building now has several bars, a casino, dining areas, a nightclub & more – all under the Corinthian Club banner. The old ground-floor banking hall – currently dubbed Tellers Bar & Brasserie – is the most impressive element, & is certainly worth a look – even for the bling-averse. Spacious & lush, with a glass dome & classic 19th-century decorative fabric, one side of the room is screened off as a brasserie, while the other has a long banquette, tables & high scalloped chairs. The central area – with stools, tables & open booths – has two actual bars serving anything from pints of Guinness & cocktails to bottles of Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé at £650.
