Grand classical architecture with great set-piece rooms all set in rolling parkland snugly fits the Von Essen Groups remit. The cooking may not necessarily be the most innovative (roast pumpkin soup with blue cheese cream and herb oil & roast rump of lamb with dauphinoise potato and thyme us, for example) but ingredients are very well sourced & the results always pleasing.
