Square Meal review of Brown's Worcester:
The former corn mill on the banks of the Severn was a victim of the summer floods in 2007 & closed for six months for a complete refurbishment. A new look & a revitalized menu are the result. Starters range from scallops teamed with confit pork belly, cauliflower purée, black pudding & perry jus, to galantine of poussin, pigeon & quail served with beetroot & mustard seed relish & home sourdough. Mains could be locally farmed rosé veal loin with braised shin & sweetbreads & pearl barley risotto, or cassoulet of hare with haggis & baby beetroot ’neaps & tatties’. Caramelized pear & pine nut tart with lemon & cinnamon sabayon & honey & vanilla mascarpone makes a great finish.
