Square Meal review of The Fourth Floor Cafe & Bar:

A shop cafe? It’s one way of looking at this distinctly metropolitan import with its open plan kitchen & chic bar. But it’s also among the city’s most serious restaurants. There’s impressive integrity to cooking which cheerfully juxtaposes luxury & utility items. The repertoire might include fennel & white bean velouté with salsa verde, or wild mushroom risotto with organic Acquerello rice & parmesan to start, then roast partridge, crisp polenta & carrot purée with a blackberry jus, or Faroe Island cod fillet with beef & beer sauce, spinach purée & sautéed girolles . Excellent food shop/deli adjoining.
