DUE TO RE-OPEN SUMMER 2014
Chef Nathan Outlaw seems to be doing for Rock what fellow piscophile Rick Stein did for Padstow across the water. With two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Nathan Outlaw and Outlaw’s Seafood & Grill making waves in the St Enodoc Hotel, he recently teamed up with the guys from Sharp’s Brewery to re-launch The Mariners pub in the village. This will be Sharp’s first tied house, although food is likely to be the main attraction, with Outlaw’s long-time sidekick Paul Ripley in charge of the kitchen (Ripley had his own Michelin-starred Cornish gaff back in the day, and was also involved in opening Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen in Port Isaac). The Mariners is currently undergoing a low-key refurbishment to make the most of the split-level space and its expansive views over the Camel Estuary. More details to follow.
