Square Meal Review of Dusit Thai ?

After almost a decade at the top of its game, Dusit is still widely regarded as the pick of a big bunch of Thai eateries in Edinburgh. Tucked away on cobbled Thistle Street, it’s a favourite with tourists and locals alike – although above-average prices, very cramped tables and patchy service can sometime raise a few frowns. That said, the skilfully crafted food is right on the money: pad Thai is a textbook version, but also look for the likes of pad phet tom yum (a fragrant soup of monkfish, scallops and prawns) or the Bangkok-trained chef’s house speciality – grilled marinated chicken breast with red onion, cashew nuts, fresh mango, pineapple and crushed-chilli dressing. Inside, it’s cool and informal, with exhibits from Thai art students adding some colour to proceedings. Takeaways are also available.
