Square Meal Review of The Coach and Horses ?

Overlooking Harrogate’s extensive West Park, the Coach and Horses is ideally positioned – especially if you fancy an afternoon drink in summer. Inside, wood panelling prevails, with a multitude of blackboards listing the latest cask ales being served at the bar: names such as Tetley’s, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Rooster’s Leghorn and Daleside Blonde are regularly on the pumps. An extensive wine list and more than 80 malt whiskies also catch the eye, but don’t come here looking for shots, alco-pops or cocktails – they don’t sell them. The pub is packed during weekends, and remains a popular place for classic pub lunches during the week (hot and cold sandwiches sit alongside liver and bacon, gammon steaks and homemade pies). Also look for snappily titled evening deals – ‘curry with colleagues’ or ‘chilli with chums’, for example
