The William Cecil hotel and restaurant at Burghley Estate in Lincolnshire – home of the horse trials and much else – is a relaxed, stylish restaurant in a fabulous, historic setting. The modern restaurant offers simple, seasonal food with great service in a fun atmosphere. The weekday Speedy Cecil lunches are a great bargain and will have you served and out the door in no time, while the frequently changing menu, including both ‘roasting pot’ and all-day Sunday menus, a la carte, game menu, elevenses and afternoon menus. The short, carefully chosen wine list has a nice range of bin ends and boutique wines. The William Cecil’s superb suppliers range from regional ales, cheese and fish to the estate’s own game, lamb and pork.
