Quirky pub meets pizza restaurant at Harpenden’s The George, a great venue entering the newest phase of its life as one of the town’s most popular meeting places. Situated right on the High Street, this bustling pub and restaurant welcomes an eclectic crowd of young groups, couples and even business diners, seeking high quality and value for money. The bright, simple décor of The George creates a cosy but stylish atmosphere, with a choice of seating ranging from traditional tables and chairs for formal dining to low slung sofas and armchairs for a kick-back cocktail and perhaps a nibble. The menu has a strong focus on pizzas, stone baked in the traditional way and topped with a crazy array of traditional and creative ingredients. But you’ll also find equally good dishes in the shape of hamburgers, salads, wraps and a good selection of nibbles and sharing platters – ideal accompaniments to the array of wines, beers and cocktails sold at the bar.
