Essex’s Rayleigh Lodge, has perfected the blending of East and West with its exciting British pub and Thai restaurant concept. Upon approaching Rayleigh Lodge you may be fooled in to believing that this really is the archetypal English country pub, however, walk through that grand doorway and you’re transported to a different, more exotic part of the world. In the bar and dining spaces, Rayleigh Lodge combines the best of the British building with elegant Asian touches to create a sumptuous atmosphere of Eastern charm, indeed even the waitresses are clad in traditional Thai silk. Comprehensive and tempting, the menu is an exploration of South East Asian flavours, offering numerous Thai dishes as well as plenty from Malaysia and Indonesia, while out in the bar a simpler selection includes traditional Brit offerings. At the bar, a good selection of beers and spirits is accompanied by a carefully considered wine list.
