Two locally renowned Bristol chefs have hooked up to launch this informal wine bar-cum-tapas joint. Styled with low-hanging industrial lamps, leather booths and high stools near the window, Manna looks unfussy and unfazed. Pop in for a drink or hang around to sample some of the sharing plates on offer. The kitchen has its heart in Spain, but it roams around Europe for the likes of warm octopus with piquillo peppers, slow-baked sea trout with tzatziki, confit chicken wings with salsa romesco and rolled crispy pig’s head with sauce gribiche – plus charcuterie and assorted British and European artisan cheeses. Liquid assets include an excellent choice of beers ranging from Bristol’s own Southville Hop to Brooklyn lager and Spanish Cruzcampo; otherwise freshen up with Prosecco, a Venetian spritz or something from the sprightly wine list.
